jimbolauski,

Tactics change with better equipment, nobody would defer to the reanimated corpse of the red barron for modern air combat.

I love the reported fact that pilots in WWI would tip their nose as a sign of respect when downing another pilot.

FunkyMonk,

Reminds me of community college when anyone in the class had actual on the job programming experience the instructor starts grilling them about what the corps actually are having people work on.

ArbitraryValue,

Loader? Better watch out, he’ll rip your arm off!

FiskFisk33,

he is still qualified to tell them how the equipment works…

are we gatekeeping tank school now?

It's a meme, not an in-depth examination of international tanking standards. It's just poking fun at the fact that Ukraine is one of the few countries in the world which has current tank-to-tank combat experience, but they go to the US for advanced training courses.

OwlPaste,

Imagine abrams have different behaviours and buttons to press to what these chaps are used to. Different weight class, handling, aiming, reloading, maintenance. You don’t need tank v tank combat experience to educate people who don’t necessarily speak English fluently which button does what, where it is and when/how to use tank gadgets so it goes into muscle memory because i donno about you, but if someone starts shooting me out of a tank i am very likely to piss myself. Its better they learn muscle memory of where what is in those tanks to be effective and hopefully soon we can see these chaps rolling into Crimea.

I too would rather piss on the right buttons than piss myself

DoomBot5,

Or you know, you can just enjoy the meme.

I think you’re lost, this is actually NonCredibleDefense.

Windex007,

In fairness the question posed is how do they “fight” not “how does the equipment work”.
