sin_free_for_00_days,

The change, which became effective in July and was first reported by The Wall Street Journal on Thursday, will create consistency in starting hourly pay across individual stores

So instead of raising wages for people making below a liveable wage, they are cutting salary. All while the US pays welfare for the Walmart employees that don’t make enough to live. I guess they have to maintain that $3+ billion budget for advertising, because lord knows few people know about Walmart. Also have to maintain the disgusting wealth at the top so they can continue to bribe lobby gov’t officials.

God damn, I wish we had a gov’t that could stand up to corporations.

How bout they raise the pay of everyone to the highest? That would make it consistant across stores.

They could have raised it too. Fuck Walmart!

So what is the most effective way to get these stores unionized? They'll play hardball, threaten to close stores, and maybe even will close them. But something has to give. It is approaching time to force their hand.

Same here. There's one flavor of one brand of cat treat that all of our cats will accept and I can only find it there. It's a unicorn.

I'll buy 5 bags when I happen to be in town, but that's it

They had to lower there pay cause nobody wants to work anymore 🙄

engityra,

I don't understand how they think this is going to help staffing when they will be unable to find staff in areas where there is a higher cost of living.
