riquisimo, in Which PG-13 film made the best use of its one allocated F-word?

Oblivion had a good one, but not nearly as good as Alita.

Oblivion’s was similarly stated as the “big bad guy” was defeated.

smallaubergine, in Which PG-13 film made the best use of its one allocated F-word?

The Martian. Watney survives a wind storm after his crewmates make an emergency escape, thinking he was dead. He wakes up, had to perform surgery on himself... Once he finishes he lays back realizing the fact that he is now stuck on Mars alone and says "fuck." Always loved how Matt Damon acted in that scene

CreativeCider, in Which PG-13 film made the best use of its one allocated F-word?

The fact that we have to be shielded from the bad word “fuck” in media in this day and age is somewhat outrageous in itself.

FriendlyBeagleDog,

I find it amusing that language is classified based upon frequency of use. If your average thirteen year old hears fuck once, maybe they’ll be okay - but how profane for them to hear it twice or even three times in a two hour timespan.

freamon, in The Day the Earth Stood Still

This is very much a failing of mine, but I don’t have time for old films (although, compared to modern stuff, this film comes in at a trim 90 minutes). The movement of the camera is too ponderous and the sound of the voices too grating for me to enjoy. If asked what my favourite film was, it’d be really cool to say something from the 40s/50s/60s, but the truthful answer is probably RoboCop.

someguy3,

I think old movies are better in many ways. New movies have the shaky Cam and the angry whisper that you can’t hear.

CCatMan, in Theory: All movies with studio credits altered to fit the film are Good Movies

The intro to The Incredibles 2 is changed for the movie. Not a bad movie, just another one to consider.

Also, kung fu panda.

Uhhh, is this real, cause if so, Ridley is not going to get any hardcore history buffs with this movie. They already have Waterloo, a movie that will literally take a whole army to top.

Seems like it’s a bit late to make an Ani DiFranco music video?

sin_free_for_00_days, in [AskMovies] What is a movie you think is not appreciated enough?

Last Action Hero (1993). It’s not a masterpiece, but it’s way better than its reception warranted. I think most people who don’t like it, just didn’t really get it.

hydrashok,

That movie is sooooo underrated.

The critics never really understood it at the time, and the movie suffered from poor press. Definitely a cult classic. Also love that Arnie got Sly to do a Terminator poster for the video store, and all the references to other movies hidden all over the place. It’s an Easter egg extravaganza!

Napoleon Reinstated slavery as soon as he took power

Fuck Napoleon

CeruleanRuin,

I don’t think anybody thinks he was a good guy. But an interesting guy, for sure.

The Jacket (2005)

It’s a mindbendy mystery thriller with some great performances. A bit like Memento or Inception but without Nolan’s focus on the gimmicks.

Napoleon Thanksgiving: A heartwarming comedy directed by Ridley Scott.

CeruleanRuin, in [Poster] New Poster for Ridley Scott's 'Napoleon'

Yep, that’s a Napoleon alright.

I love Ridley Scott, but whenever I think about this movie I can’t help but regret that Kubrick never got the chance to make his Nappy film.

yata,

It may still come about in some form:

Steven Spielberg “Mounting A Big Production” For Stanley Kubrick’s ‘Napoleon’; Project Is Set As Seven-Part Limited Series For HBO

Looking forward to the movie… But i do wish it was a mini series, there is just so much to cover.

kratoz29, in 32 Things I Love About Superbad

Aye, time to re-watch this film I guess.
