Just checking in to say how much I love Memmy. Its emotionally won me over to the extent that none of the sticking points you mentioned above faze me—like, at all :)
If you’re a fellow user, be nice and we’ll have nice things, fam. I, for one, welcome our Memmy overlord and the extensive care and thoughtful engagement with the community they have demonstrated is something we should be building up and standing behind as an example unto the dev/app world.
Edit: if I see any bs I’ll be downvoting and lovebombing MemmyDev even more to make up for it ;)
As I mention above, the second half of this message is not intended for the vast majority of users. And even for the users it is geared toward, it isn’t meant to be rude at all but to be informative.
I completely get how easy it is to forget that large projects are often times the result of a handful of people all with their own daily lives to deal with. I’ve run into a number of projects recently that have absolutely blown my mind when it comes to the difference in the size of the team vs the size of the product.
Logging in with username does not work for me, independent of the instance format (with/without https://). Reinstalling several times not successful. Switched to VOYAGER.
Thanks for the lack of response from the developers. Glad you don’t have time to respond or even acknowledge the issues. App has been broken for a week now. I guess you’d rather I use voyager app?
I am a single person working on this right now. I am totally fine with you using whichever app you need to use, and I understand that if it wasn’t working for you that you’re going to switch. I have my own life commitments as well that I have to make, and managing issues through email, GitHub, and Lemmy is not feasible in the slightest.
That said, these issues are fixed now. If you want to update and use it, that’s great. If you prefer voyager that is fine too.
I also had this issue, and I think it was because I used my email address instead of username, which works initially but breaks later. Deleting app and logging in with username fixes it.
The app is bricked on my iPhone as well. This is pretty bad. If I switch apps, I’ll never come back to this one. It’s been broken for days now. Not sure why I haven’t switched yet but if it’s not fixed by today then I have no choice.
Gk is rewriting the entire app rn. I unfortunately don’t have the time to help with it atm or it would be much faster. But be a little patient and we will eventually have it back to full functionality.
First of all thank you for all of your hard work. We all really appreciate everything you have done.
I have just one issue that keeps me from going full time Memmy. When in landscape mode and you click an image for a post, it rotates to portrait to view the image and never resolves to landscape.
Small issue but sort of annoying. Not a complaint just wanted to point that out
