So just for the hell of it, in order,...
A new beta of Mlem for Lemmy was released on 2023-07-02. Among many other improvements, it has greatly improved VoiceOver support. But there are also the following known issues:...
Everything is labeled.
Why not make it static? Set it so virtually no one can post (ultra high karma, or 100 years on reddit). But, make useful resources very available as read only. Then, direct users to here or discord if they want or need more information. The sub essentially becomes a reference.
A comprehensive mapping of old subreddits to new communities.
As the title says. I’m not doing bad, this seems like it may finally be stable-ish. I’m typing this with my braille display because I can actually use it on this platform unlike on reddit which is nice.
So, I have been thinking about this community (the Lemmy side in specific) and how to break the chicken/egg problem of trying to move communities....
Mods, please let me know if this is not in line with your plans for this community. I’m flying blind here, lol so funny. Don’t know anything about Lemmy or the Fediverse or what this community is supposed to look like. This is just me, bull in china shop....
Hey folks:...
A Game Jam was just announced where the goal is to test the technology you want to use for bigger blind accessible projects....

I’m looking for accessible XMPP/jabber clients for Windows desktop and IOS. Anyone got any recommendations for me?
I was wondering if it would be best to house a transcriber community here on rblind.com or should I make a community on another instance. I helped with r/TranscribersOfReddit and would be happy to try and build more accessibility here on Lemmy.
New to the Fediverse thing, but trying to keep stuff consistent and in one place, so was trying to connect via my mastodon profile. However, searching on my Mastodon instance for !main yields no results....
I’m posting this as an image post to test out alt text.

So, I need a learning curve. Hope Y’all got some patience. But, this can’t be anymore tough than a Commodors or BASIC, right? Lol Cheers!
Hello!...
So a quick update on where we’re at for folks not following the discord. The stability issues plaguing us over the last couple of days seem to have been fixed, touch wood. Thanks to Arch and VictiniStar101 on our Discord for keeping me moving forward when I was out of ideas, spinning in circles, and becoming unproductive....
As the title says this is actually usable with a display without bullshit fighting with the screen reader navigation for twice as long as writing the post takes.
