Found this when logging into the Lemmy.world Place canvas...

When making a post on Lemmy, it automatically does searches for similar existing posts. On Reddit you often have the issue of people asking the same questions over and over, this feature should definitely help reduce that!

It struck me recently that as the quality of content on the internet has arguably gone to shit, in the form of increasingly frequent ads plastered everywhere, paywalls or superficial/dumb blog posts or mainstream media articles, the basic idea of a link aggregator platform can naturally lose its quality, or struggle to maintain...

Noticed I was logged out of lemmy.ml this morning. When I logged in, everything looked the same, but… “All” loaded instantly. Switching to “Subscribed” was just as fast. Post thumbnails came up as quickly as I could scroll....

There’s another round of CSAM attacks and it’s really disturbing to see those images. It was really bothering to see those and they weren’t taken down immediately. There was even a disgusting shithead in the comments who thought it was funny?? the fuck...

There are a couple of instances that are clearly misaligned with my values, but they’re very active, so a lot of the communities keep popping up in my feed. I’ve been blocking the communities, but it would be pretty cool if I could just block the entire instance. I know an instance can defederate from another instance. Is...

Subscription models only make sense for an app/service that have recurring costs. In the case of Lemmy apps, the instances are the ones with recurring hosting costs, not the apps....

Right now, unless someone is linked to an instance directly, the first point of entry is usually join-lemmy.org, and let’s face it, it’s completely uninviting....

Red line is default, and the blue line is # of votes multiplied by 1000. x is rank, y is time. z = number of votes and has a slider to change the value.
