Reading this article got me thinking, I wonder what’s the craziest thing someone’s found while geocaching? I know of someone who stumbled across a grow-op in the woods while hunting for a cache, another geocacher said he found a gun once. Has anyone actually discovered treasure? This was definitely one of the crazier bushwhacks I’ve done lately… was able to walk right up to within 20 metres of GZ, but those last 20 metres took about 15 minutes of climbing over dense, absolutely pathless foliage. I had my doubts on finding this because there were several prior DNFs, but in the end it felt very worth...

My kids and I used to do this all the time. Lots of great memories. About the time the geocaching app in the Apple Store stopped working and they created a new subscription app, we quit. Any app recommendations for getting back into this? Anything free out there, or is it all subscription-based?

Recently decided to hike 15km/9mi round trip in some rough terrain to get to a cache and got some nice views along the way. The cache itself had not been found for 5 years and was thankfully all in place.
