Beehaw.org admin removes comments he doesn't like ( lemmy.zip )
Today I learnt that at beehaw.org you don’t really have to break any instance/community rules to have your comments removed by the admin. In their wiki page they wrote over the top, corporate-sounding articles about how “Beehaw aspires to be a diverse place” where “everyone plays an important role in that mission”, how...
What about a new mixed-feed which merges the Subscribed, Local and All feed based on probabilities customable by the user e.g. 10/40/50 or 0/20/80? ( lemmy.world )

Lemmy Fediverse subscription data ( github.com )
I was recently inspired by this post made by @mookulator to get the subscription statistics for a list of Lemmy instances....
Hey, I made a new lemmy instance focused on art and art discussion if you're interested in that. ( lemmyloves.art )
I posted a bit ago on a different account, and yeah here we are. I actually set it up!...
How do I search for an instance that blocks another instance?
I’m looking for an automatic way to search for an instance that blocks another instance. Instead of manually checking the blocked instances of multiple instances until I find the one that blocks the instance I don’t want to see, I’m wondering if there is a more efficient and automated method to identify such instances.

Digesting the "Child Safety on Federated Social Media" Report ( wedistribute.org )
An in-depth report reveals an ugly truth about isolated, unmoderated parts of the Fediverse. It’s a solvable problem, with challenges.

Meta's Threads in the attempted gentrification of the Fediverse ( todon.nl )
A large corporate shopping mall settles in a nice neighborhood with small local run shops and community centers. The new shopping mall says ‘if we settle here, more people will come, and you all will benefit’. A few years later all small shops are bankrupt and the community is destroyed. What remains is a barren corporate...
Lemmy exceeds million users (maybe more accurately accounts) ( lemmy.world )
Lemmy has multiplied it's number of users (maybe more accurately accounts) in just few days. How much do you think is the percentage of bot accounts? Is Lemmy having problem with bot farming?
Here's why more people won't switch to Lemmy.
I told somebody I know who knew about Reddit’s API changes about Lemmy. He has a master’s degree in Computer Science and works as a software engineer. But then, he told me that it’s too confusing to get into, even for someone like him. This is great feedback and I hope that these issues will be fixed in the coming months....
After Radio Silence, Kbin App Artemis Shuts Down ( lemmy.ml )
Artemis was a promising mobile app for Kbin, with a dedicated community, a rapid pace of development, and a high level of polish. Then, the developer disappeared.
Is there anything akin to a federated forum login?
Hi folks! Today I have asked myself if I could login with one (no, not google or apple or micosoft) account in all the (30 I think) forums that I have to use as a FOSS admin. Nextcloud Forum, Ubuntu Forum, Mint forum, Makemkv Forum, Papermc Forum, linux.org, etc....
A poll: are followers-only posts on Mastodon public? ( infosec.exchange )
On Mastodon, Followers-only posts are only visible to your followers – and to admins of any instances your followers on. But if you haven’t turned on “approve followes”, anybody who’s logged in to an instance you haven’t blocked can follow you and get access to your followers-only posts....

Export/Import Communities
Since lemmy.world is having trouble for the second time in three days, I decided to switch back over to my lemmy.ml account. Unfortunately I don’t have all of my communities back over here in my .ml account, and it took me over an hour to manually subscribe to the ones I had over on my .world account....

How do the different federated software interact with each other?
Hello everyone....
Wiki on fediverse?
Is there some application like a wiki in the fediverse? A place to gather and edit information together about a specific topic.
My fediverse use - I'm hosting everything myself - PeerTube, Mastodon and Lemmy ( tube.jeena.net )
To really own your content, I think you need to host it yourself. The fediverse makes it possible.
Say I want to use Peertube to preserve videos forever, focus on resilience.
How should I do this?...
