AVeryCleverName, in order to use the “share nearby” feature between a phone and a PC, yes, as far as I can tell
edit: I should probably mention my phone is still googled.
clmbmb, “share nearby” is not simple bluetooth. You can still send files through bluetooth without having to login to any provider.

I generally use usb to transfer data , its faster i believe !
