Lies Of P - Series X
Since Elden Ring launched in 2022 I’ve discovered I have something of a thing for these challenging ‘soulslikes’. I’ve played Sekiro, Bloodborne, and Wo-Long in 2023 alone. Next up? It’s Lies of P.
Lies of P is a soulslike by the way of Pinocchio. Yup. It’s PinocchioSouls. And you know what? It might be my game of the year.
The game borrows heavily from Fromsoft titles, to the point where I’ve seen reviewers referring to it as an almost-reskinned Bloodborne, and whilst that is true, it’s bringing an awful lot of nice touches to the table.
My favourite being that you can essentially customise your weaponry and totally change a weapons given stats by changing up it’s handle/blade combination.
The boss fights are challenging but fair and the moment to moment combat feels great, perhaps not Sekiro levels of great, but close enough that you could be forgiven this was a Fromsoft title.
So yeah. I’ve been excited for this title for a while, and now it’s here I can say that it doesn’t disappoint at all.
