Path Lit By Lightning by David Maraniss is about Jim Thorpe the Native American super-athlete and the history of how Native Americans were treated as well, it's an amazing read. It's 575 pages of story and 659 pages overall with notes, indexes, etc at the end. A well-researched and written book.
