Where did the Create Community button go on Lemmy.ml?
I wanna make a Leetcode community 🦾

OverfedRaccoon, Lemmy.ml removed the ability to create communities to (I believe) encourage using other instances. You can create a community on other instances still - like lemmy.world, for example.
Jourei, But please create it somewhere else than lemmy.world as well as it’s by far the largest one. Gotta distribute and disperse across fedi!
Metal_Zealot, The longer I stayed on Lemmy.world, the more I realized how counter-productive everyone migrating to the biggest, most popular instance was. They should be actively encouraging new users in the Fediverse to explore
Rocketpoweredgorilla, I actually made a new account today on .ca for that reason. I have had a .world account for two months now but they’re having some growing pains so I figured I’d do my (tiny) part to help distribute the server loads a little better.
Metal_Zealot, I’ve been floating between .ca, shitjustworks, dbzer0 and kbin for the last few months before I settled on .ml. I like being given the choice of what content I want to see, on the platform that I like most
Atemu, And how are you supposed to do that without an account on that other instance? Genuine question.
I don’t want to migrate accounts just to create a community; something that isn’t even properly possible yet.
phillaholic, I’m up to 4 accounts because none of this shit is stable or scaling well. It’s a mess.
nix, Hopefully lemmy.world does the same tbh
JohnDClay, Lots of smaller instances to make a community on, try to use the decentralized nature of the fediverse
scrubbles, There are a few programming based instances, I’m sure any of them would be great to host the community
snowe,
hsl, This is more of a support question, related to using Lemmy. Please see the sidebar for a list of communities that offer support. Removing under rule #3.
