Autistic burnout is one of the greatest crises that an Autistic person can face.

People often think of it as similar to depression, but it can take many diverse forms.

what does burnout look like for you?

Thx for bringing this up!
I experience two states. One is emotional and mental instability. I can change from confidence and joy to exhaustion and hopelessness and back several times a day.
The other one is emotional numbness, when my compensation of alexithymia is worn out. If this lasts longer than 2-3 weeks, I‘m in danger of running into a deep suicidal crisis without warning.

@manon @actuallyautistic @autisticadvocacy @audhd for me, I swing between a manic need to do everything but not be able to do it properly, complete disdain for anyone asking anything of me, and when it gets bad it triggers my schizophrenia.

I wonder if it’s a form of Functional Neurological Disorder.

@f1337 @actuallyautistic @autisticadvocacy @audhd there certainly are some overlaps between FND and some people's experiences of burnout
