I heard a good thought related to the latter one. Autistics share the things we're excited about / currently focused on, and then expect others to share the same for them. Even if we don't care about their thing, their passion / excitement / whatever is enjoyable to experience / participate in.
There's no "let me pretend to care about stuff that's boring as eff to me." Allistic communication is literally the opposite.

Allistics are literally hoping you'll read their minds and ask about the thing they want to talk about / are focused on, but providing no hints as to what that is.
