I heard a good thought related to the latter one. Autistics share the things we're excited about / currently focused on, and then expect others to share the same for them. Even if we don't care about their thing, their passion / excitement / whatever is enjoyable to experience / participate in.
There's no "let me pretend to care about stuff that's boring as eff to me." Allistic communication is literally the opposite.
