The autistic urge to reveal everything you know about a topic you like the second someone brings it up, feeling as though you may burst if you don’t, even though the person you’re speaking to probably has only a mild interest in the subject and will be shocked by your passion.

That was literally me today. We had a session at our offsite on using AI in the workplace, and a colleague afterwards asked me what I thought about the potential risks of AI, so I immediately started infodumping about the Paperclip Problem and Roku’s Basilisk. Biting my tongue and the inside of my cheek, just this morning, standing in line to pick up my new glasses, while the clerk and customer ahead of me talked about which solvents would be best to keep eyeglasses clean.
I deal with solvents every day. I know which ones take care of oil based and water soluble contaminates. I know which ones are safe to use on anti-reflective coat. But I was good, I stayed quiet.
