Polar opposite shows, but I always sing along to the opening of The Sopranos and Ted Lasso.

We had an amusement park called Geauga Lake close to where I grew up in Ohio. Not quite as big as the famous Cedar Point park which was a couple of hours away by car, but it had quite a history, and was a really popular one for school trips, company picnics, etc. It went through some ownership changes, and was eventually closed and left to rot with many of the original structures still sitting there after the coaster parts were sold off. Haven't looked into it for a number of years, but it was weird seeing that same entrance building we walked through so many times just decaying.

RavenFellBlade,

Geauga Lake was featured in Bright Sun Productions "Abandoned" series on YouTube. Excellent channel if you enjoy the subject matter!

The farm I grew up on. They flattened this HUGE hill to do it as well. They removed a creek, natural lake, and tons of forest. For a flat, treeless, subdivision.

Depressing, I’m sorry you had to see that happen.Theres is something about never wanting the place you grew up to never change.

There was a small lake near the village I grew up. We used to go to play, swim and skip stones and so on. It always was shallow, then it was a puddle for a while and finally completely dried out. Now it looks like nothing was ever there, as it’s mostly plants now, though you can still kinda tell if you know where to look. Was weird to me to think that young people who grow up there might never know it used to exist.

I have a few:

  • Babylon 5 : The opening monologue and music score was amazing every time. Definitely an older vibe with this one with flashing images of the cast up as it progressed, but it was very good.
  • Westworld Season 1 : I think it was mainly the same for later seasons with slight variations. The simple piano tune building for the whole intro was beautiful and while watching back to back would absolutely let it run maybe every other episode, or every third.
  • Eureka Season 1 : The score by Mothersbaugh and quirky art is really fun and conveys the definite style of the show.

The Computer Museum in Boston; one of my favorite places to visit as a computer-obsessed kid.

The opening to Black Sails fucking slaps. I usually skip intros after a few episodes, but I almost never skip the Black Sails intro.

Very specific, but folks in the DMV of a certain age will remember this.

Leaps And Bounds, and Discovery Zone. Not sure if they were local only (St. Louis, MO) but they were sort of combination arcades/jungle gyms for kids to go to.

BioWizard,

We had a Discovery zone in PR when I was little too!

beanland,

We had a Discovery Zone in Oregon. Loved that place.

Not opening credits exactly but I really loved the recap thing they did in Ronald D. Moore's BSG. So much energy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XPBzHa2PcS8&t=38s
