Due to difficulties I had installing Piped, an alternative frontend for Youtube, I decided to improve and document the process in a better way. In the end, I pretty much redid the whole thing, leaving almost no stone un-turned. You can test my installer from my repo and post any comments and doubts here.
Based on disassembly of the PC DOS version, this port runs on PC, Mac and Linux and features many enhancements such as quick saving and the ability to mod the game including level design.
-Hotfix: Apparently yesterdays build was missing the normal proton packaged Gecko and Mono (the file size was significantly smaller than usual). This build fixes that.
This is a minor hotfix release that just syncs proton-wine with upstream versions from today. A user complained they were seeing some odd CPU+GPU usage in 8-7 but was fine in today’s proton-experimental. After testing with this build based on today’s experimental they confirmed it was working here too.
