Sunday I pulled two books from my shelves that I've been meaning to read forever and set them bedside so they'd be "up next." Now somehow there are six books on the pile. They either breed when I'm not looking, or I am confused by the meaning of "up next" and how many eyes I have. @bookstodon

Have plenty of those as well, it's just easier to carry around- ESPECIALLY if you're trying to decide what to read next!

When I read "Stepford Wives", I'd just finished another book & was done with it quickly, then had nothing to read for the rest of the day- was also really angry at blue socks

I admit when it comes to knowledge of Peter Straub's work, I am lacking. I know of him thanks to his collaborations with Stephen King (The Talisman, Black House). When Straub passed away last Sept, I felt I had missed something by not enjoying his writing while he was still on this earth.

Many said at the time that Shadowland is his best work. I'm reading it now. Slow going, but good so far.

@actuallyautistic Does anybody else out there actually prefer reading to watching TV? I find my own imagination creating the characters and scenery from what I am reading to be far more entertaining than what I watch on TV. LOL, I am such a geek. 🤓 😹

Lifelong bookworm & irritated by the excessive noise of the world, I always watched some shows but not whatever's on TV so streaming made things easier for me- waiting rooms with TVs drive me right up a wall
