"AI" is really the new "blockchain" in how every company is trying to hit the buzzword bingo with it right now.

@Gargron You do realize, that from the perspective of a rentier capitalist, that old model had a very big problem, called “artist” that wanted to be paid?

We reached a new milestone in ensuring the openness of digital markets.

Last week, 7 companies notified us they qualify as 'Gatekeepers' under the Digital Market Act.

We will check their submission before designating them. They will have 6 months to comply with the and, among others, be unable to:

  • lock in users in their ecosystem;
  • decide which apps you need pre-installed or which app store to use;
  • treat their own products and services more favourably.

By 2024, the USB-C port will be mandatory for all portable electronic devices in the EU.

This means that you will soon be able to recharge most of your devices with the same charger, making piling up bundles of cables a thing of the past.

Not only will this make your life easier, but it will also reduce greenhouse gas emissions and e-waste.

Learn more about the common charger here: https://europa.eu/!hwjj3G

@EU_Commission Not wanting to be nitpicker here, BUT this would be only true if there were only 100W PD compatible cables out there.

Which many people would find slightly cost prohibitive for simple uses.

Still the progress is there. Now if we could get somehow USB-c cables labelled what they really are, OR somebody invented a simple and cheap enough device you can plug a cable in to check what properties a cable has, …

Then one could stop rebuying cables to make sure to meet requirements.
