Every major powerful institution and figure has aided and abetted apartheid, occupation and genocide, and has gaslit people when they see it with their own eyes. This is how its always been in history. Don't expect tech leaders to do anything but that.

I think it is helpful to read other cases of genocide denial if you want to help yourself figure out what to engage with and what not to engage with. The talking points are exactly the same. All genocides work the same. It was hard to engage with friends and extended family members saying these things during and I sure am not going to entertain that from others now.

It helps to see all this before. Because its exactly the same. At that time I was so shocked to see these arguments, and it helped me to read more about denial during the Tutsi Rwandan genocide. I also talked to my friends who told me about the Mayan genocide in Guatemala, and how they couldn't speak to their families and friends. They told me that people will continue to deny even when perpetrators are taken to court and there are mountains of evidence.

Many people telling me they prefer Blue Sky because of the 1) Tone policing over here where people were telling Black people to add CWs while talking about racism, 2) the ridiculous amount of mansplaining and 3) whatever this shit is to an exiled journalist facing trolls and death threats daily.

The reception by artists of our "AI Art and Its Impact on Aritsts" paper is the best validation ever. It was added to the create don't scrape website & Arte es Ética is translating the paper in Spanish. Thank you! I hope it helps artists safeguard their rights.
