@tech I once had a customer who decided to use all 4 pairs on his CAT5 in his shop. It worked okay in the 1990s, but in about 2003 a lot of their files copied across the network were getting corrupted. It took me a long time to troubleshoot because I didn't suspect shenanigans like this.
