I know exactly what you mean and those promoted posts used to get my attention until I saw the “promoted” tag. However at some point I started automatically scrolling by these kind of post. It’s as if I developed an algorithm in my head to quickly detect and ignore them.
I guess it’s self explanatory but I keep seeing all this stuff about how everyone is moving from Reddit to lemmy and I’m wondering if anyone knows if that’s really what’s happening. If you have numbers that’s even better....
I also noticed that whenever you delete a comment, with the Liftoff app on Android you can open a menu of the deleted comment, click “Nerd stuff” and still read what the comment said. This means that the contents of the comment are never actually deleted. It’s simply tagged as deleted but the content is still there. I think you can currently only counteract that by editing your comment first, then removing it.
I’ll start. Did you know you can run a headless version of JD2 on a raspberry pi? It’s not the greatest thing in the world, but sometimes its nice to throw a bunch of links in there and go to sleep.
I have never taken a selfie in my entire life. The feature is entirely pointless for me. Are there any smartphones that don’t have a front facing camera?
that’s interesting… wouldn’t that kind of sensor consume a lot of battery? turning the camera on and off every time you use it, and to determine the distance I assume it’s autofocus?
I hate that this basically is the first step of learning to make your dreams lucid. “Write down your dreams to find patterns” - Okay sounds easy enough but every morning I’m like oop I forgor
my personal problem isn’t the fact that they know a lot about me, but the fact that they can sell that information to advertisers and make millions of dollars of something I didn’t give them willingly (sure, knowingly but not willingly)

IMHO, it’s a horrible hack that is just broken. It’s obscure and we need to rewrite it because it has a bad structure. ^X^Cquit^[ESC][ESC]^C
