Public transport needs much less space than cars. Especially if you put all the parking lots into the equation. So much space in cities is wasted by cars that do not even move most of the day.
They may be a progressive force (as in a driving force in global politics / dynamics) but that does not mean it has to be positive. And it‘s not cynical if you look at the massive human rights violation, the treatment of opposition or ethical minorities in China. I do not want any of that. But if you want to trade it for a few years of your life go for it.
Do you really look at the totalitarian government in China and say „yeah, that is something I want for my country“? Then I really am sorry for you too.
Oh they very much have that desire. To think China has no ambitions to be the next world leader and to exert their power and form of government to other countries is delusional.
Ich gebe dir nur bis zu einem gewissen Punkt recht. Israel hat das Recht sich im Rahmen des Völkerrechts zu verteidigen und ich verurteile die Gräueltaten der Hamas und stehe solidarisch mit Israel. Gleichzeitig muss ich nicht uneingeschränkt die Vertreibung (und wer weiß was noch kommt) von 1 Millionen Menschen unterstützen.

Naja einerseits ja, andererseits „gewöhnt“ man sich finde ich fast daran, weil man so wenig mitbekommt. Dann denken Leute vielleicht, so schlimm wie erwartet, ist sie ja gar nicht und auf einmal ist eine postfaschistische Ministerpräsidentin zur Normalität geworden.
