Wagner's Lohengrin was first performed in Weimar in 1850.

Here's the wonderful 1937 Met broadcast of it conducted by Maurice Abravanel.

The cast includes Kirsten Flagstad, René Maison, Karin Branzell, Julius Huehn, Ludwig Hofmann and Arnold Gabor.

@TimAshAsh @classicalmusic A Jewish conductor conducting Wagner's Lohengrin in 1937? A love declaration to Wagner's music that goes beyond everything and everyone really. Something to reflect upon.

All onboard a night train! 🚆

Rail is one of the most sustainable means of transport we have, but cross-border trips account for just 7% of the kilometres travelled by train.

This is why we are supporting 10 pilot projects to create new international train connections in the EU.

They will help us improve the quality of service and make them a viable option for more people.
