Someone asked me what I think is going on with Trump's lawyers attacking the clerk.

Yesterday I said this:

"It's hard to tell what is going on with that. My best guess is that Trump's lawyers are fatigued, know they are losing, and are getting weird and paranoid."

Judge Engoron, who sees it all up close, said there is misogyny.

I just saw a picture of the clerk and I have revised my opinion.

The judge may be right . . .

@Teri_Kanefield in Trump world, women are extensions/reflections of a man’s power. They have no agency. Women are ornamental & serve to buttress/reinforce their husband’s rank & position. She is also the “good woman” who mitigates/ameliorates his worse impulses. See also the Angel/whore dynamic. Women are either put on a pedestal or slatterns to be used for seed-sowing practice by men to prove their virility.

Here’s what continues to worry me. Can you name a single “leader” who would have the stature, cred, and oratorical talent to lead any kind of serious resistance if Trump did win? I try, and try, and try, and come up with total bupkis.

Our so-called “leaders” get assimilated into the TV pundit corps the moment they ascend to any kind of prominence, and immediately become ineffectual and irrelevant. (Probably by design.) Try and find even one clear exception. Try.

Not only are we doomed to repeat history, I think we get some sort of masochistic kink out of repeating it on purpose. Sometimes I think we're all just bugs in a cosmic jar who take turns being a different person or manifestation of carbon for eternity. It's probably the closest I'll come to sharing an opinion with Elon Musk. It's like we're a Sims game.

As wildfires are ravaging Attica, 🇬🇷 requested the activation of the Mechanism yesterday.

We are responding by:

✈️ deploying 4 Canadairs from our fleet based in France and Italy;
👩‍🚒 👨‍🚒 sending three firefighting teams from Poland, Romania and Slovakia for a total of 220 firefighters and 65 vehicles.

In addition, three pre-deployed firefighting teams from Romania, Bulgaria and Malta are already in action.
