A strange part of being autistic is getting in trouble for your facial expressions, tone of voice, not inferring things you haven’t been told, & somehow implying things you haven’t implied. It can feel like people get offended by stuff that’s unavoidable & beyond our control.

You're basically getting in trouble for what others are reading in between the lines because they're making assumptions that are only valid for the people they're used to dealing with.

@calofost @roknrol @demimom @AutisticAdam @actuallyautistic As someone with ADHD and anxiety I had to train myself out of doing this. Otherwise I think people mean/think all kinds of things that is literally just anxiety lying to me. Or projection (in a good way) but it bites me in the ass when they aren’t coming from a good place but I assume they are because I would be.

@GreenRoc @AutisticAdam @actuallyautistic I got accused by my rental manager of wanting to control the parking lot because I was complaining about uninspected overly loud vehicles parking outside my bedroom window when they live in a different building, when our lease says all the vehicles have to be in proper working order and legal, and we have quiet hours between 9 PM and 7 AM.

The ruling class will do anything to get out of doing their job properly. Literally anything.

@OldWoodFrame @ZeroCool yeah I will never, Comcast/Xfinity are total scum bags and I would pay extra to never give them money ever again. Unfortunately I am forced to use them for Internet, there’s no way I’m paying for their cable TV programming.

Friends, sorry (my English is still beginner-level) but, I'm trying. Well, what's the persistent trouble that hinders you the most in your daily life? In my case, it's problems with sensory stimuli. For example, sounds. It causes me a lot of anxiety too and makes my case of high blood sugar worse (I have type 2 diabetes). Medicines don't help me..only physical exercises

@lobocode @actuallyautistic I have MECFS and ADHD so I can relate to the sounds thing. Too much noise will physically exhaust me, and it can actually make me feel sick later on. I can’t call my doctor’s office because the hold music is ridiculously loud, if I turn it down it just turns into speaker crackle. Then I am fully frustrated by the time someone answers the phone so I have to really work really hard not to sound it so they don’t think I’m taking it out on them. And it’s just too much lol thankfully they have a portal and I can message, but seriously?

@lobocode @actuallyautistic I like being new places and exploring, but yeah they getting there is rough. Lots of anxiety. They call it the “waiting period” or something like that when people (me) can’t do anything now because there’s an appointment later. I do the whole “ok so I have to leave at this time which means I have to get in the shower before . . . “
