There's a fallacy that I keep making and I think it's because I'm #ActuallyAutistic: When I reach a conclusion in my mind based on logical deduction, I wrongly assume that everyone else must have reached the same conclusion, since they have access to the same data and logic is universal... Then when I tell other people my thoughts, I introduce them with "you probably already know it, but I realized that ..."
@lulu@actuallyautistic Right there with you. I often make the mistake of assuming that other people have the same depth of knowledge that I do about a particular thing or that I’m “late to the party” and they already know about whatever it is (they usually don’t, AND they don’t want to hear about it from me, either).
That’s really only happened when it comes to unwritten social cues that I have no clue about. But they can’t explain those, either!
@lulu I'll be right here whenever you read that book and are jumping up and down needing to tell someone, anyone, of how amazing it is.
Like my friend Mary was for me. Like I was for Yossi. And for the (oops) dozens of other people who needed this book so much, to understand about our world, our history, our - everything.
