I often make the mistake of assuming that other people have the same depth of knowledge that I do about a particular thing or that I’m “late to the party” and they already know about whatever it is (they usually don’t, AND they don’t want to hear about it from me, either).
That’s really only happened when it comes to unwritten social cues that I have no clue about. But they can’t explain those, either!
