Thanks to Fiona Malpass, I have recently become aware of this excellent video produced by the Voice Collective on the experience of university students who hear voices. As a university lecturer I can say: we can do better https://youtu.be/W3I0DXX02Us?si=IpF2dZLqvCZUOJsA @philosophy

As part of our project to bring philosophy to everyone we are in the process of translating our resources in Italian and Spanish! I am really excited about this. Have a look at our work in progress on the Italian site: Benvenuti al giardino della filosofia! http://it.thephilosophygarden.com #P4C #filosofiapertutti @philosophy

In this post for the blog I report from a very interesting interdisciplinary symposium on how to address epistemic injustice in and health https://epistemicinjusticeinhealthcareproject.blogspot.com/2023/11/addressing-epistemic-injustice-from.html @ethics @philosophy

@lisabortolotti @ethics @philosophy The curiosity contributrion sounds interesting more generally. Too bad busy people seldom have cognitive-emotional space for such.

Eitenberger's part touches personally; with AD I have had to study neurology to get rid of the credibility deficit. AlzForum, e.g., functions as my backrest in interactions with specialists (though I have to write something down in advance).

Today! Delighted to be a keynote at the very first Annual Web Conference of the International Society for the Philosophy of the Sciences of the Mind! Check out the programme, and participate if you can https://www.ispsmind.com/international-conference/ I'll be talking about ants, grasshoppers, delusions, and conspiracy beliefs... 🐜 🍃 @philosophyofmind @philosophy

economics,

@lisabortolotti @philosophyofmind @philosophy unfortunately I couldn’t find a link to join. Nonetheless, I have a strong interest in your talk. We should talk sometime. I think I have a fascinating application in a real world problem that isn’t obvious.

Last Saturday at the SAPERE P4C conference in Bristol I talked about the resources we are developing in The Philosophy Garden on conspiracy theories, and showed two of our videos to a very engaged audience. Slides are here if interested: https://www.canva.com/design/DAFyAP0M6o0/wdecdW8k_my9E5Jem_gJpw/view?utm_content=DAFyAP0M6o0&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=link&utm_source=editor Thanks to Kathleen Murphy-Hollies and Jessica Sutherland who prepared the presentation with me based on their experiences of delivering sessions for schools last summer. @philosophy

"The idea that the presence of a signals that there is something wrong with the person reporting it is not only a dangerous over-simplification, but it can also prevent us from exchanging ideas productively with people who have different worldviews and values in a number of different contexts." Here is a precis of my book, Why Delusions Matter (Bloomsbury 2023) https://pure-oai.bham.ac.uk/ws/portalfiles/portal/207919793/Understanding_delusions_to_improve_mutual_interactions.pdf @philosophy @psychology

Reading now "Why Delusions Matter" (Lisa Bortolotti, 2023). Very interesting: I agree on the need to rethink the notion of "delusion".
