Question for my fellow academics:

How many concurrent projects is a comfortable number for you (i.e., allows you to work without feeling rushed)?

And what is the optimal number of meetings a day (i.e., that allows you to move things along, but also leaves you enough time for other things)?

@JoranJongerling @academicchatter fewer projects then what I currently have (10+, it's complicated) and I wish I had only 3 meetings a day. Good days are under 5, bad days are over 8.

@danai @academicchatter I'm helping to stand up organizational structures for an climate smart agro-ecosystems project linking producers, community, and academics and it's been WILD. Not quite sure how this is going to shake out but it has been unlike anything I've been involved with in the past.

@Buxton_Vienna @danai @academicchatter This is my first experience with applied research, I'm a mathematical modeler and informatician for the most part. We sold this project on a co-goverance model with way too little space to actually flesh out what that looks like in the proposal beyond warm fuzzy words. Now we are in the weeds of the kick off and negotiating what that looks like.

Wild is the only way I can describe it.
