I just read the best graphic novel on gender, ever. And I do try to read all of them. Maybe because this is presented in story form, and because it's modeled on a real family, but the struggle of a parent to accept her child's transition is so thoughtfully, emotionally presented. ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ @bookstodon@lgbtqbookstodon#trans#bookhttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show/5808305557

@jillrhudy@franciscawrites@bookstodon My take is that I'm glad Tor takes so many chances, but some of their stuff just isn't up to par. They probably won't care if you pan them. If I were a blogger, librarian, or professional, they wouldn't have gotten so miffed at me. 😁

@bookstodon have Y'all taken the Bookfinity Quiz? It's illuminating. My results were: Serial Reader, Bookworm, and Leading Lady (strong female leads). https://bookfinity.com
A friend of mine has just gotten into reading, telling me that "This Neil Gaiman guy and that Stephen Graham Jones dude are really good." She's asked me for rec's. Ha! She has no idea what she's gotten herself into. I'm gonna have to rein myself in from overwhelming her! ❤📚❤
@bookstodon Y'all like a time-loop novel with a fresh premise? I just read The Never-ending End of the World, by Ann Christy, and this novel does just that. Instead of being in a time-loop herself, the main character discovers that just about everyone else is stuck in their own little time loops. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. Maybe you will too. #TimeLoop#Books#IAmReading#BooksWorthReading
I recommend purchasing used books from the library, especially if they sell donated books, and not just library discards. I picked up all of these for a cool five bucks. @bookstodon
@snooze_cat@bookstodon that must have been amazing! I have to comb through the daily donations carefully to find the treasures. It's also satisfying to see my own donations sold.
"They say human brains have the storage capacity to hold everything on the internet, the equivalent of 4.7 billion books."
So, you don't have to worry! Unless you achieve immortality, no matter how many fun facts you learn, or books you read, your brain will never run out of disk space.
I loved SCARLET so much that I read it last night in one sitting then came to work today and grabbed another Cogman, THE INVISIBLE LIBRARY. I didn't know I needed a Scarlet Pimpernel retelling with vampires, but this novel is oodles better than it sounds! What a ripping yarn! @bookstodon#bookstodon#sff#fantasy
