kerrigan778,

Ah yes, the nostalgic leftist scifi show that defined generations is popular amongst the left leaning members of the nostalgia generation.

kerrigan778,

But like, they’re still gonna export a ton of oil and import a ton of finished goods right?

kerrigan778,

Oh, y’know what, I’m half misinformed, they do for the record export a ton of oil (refined petroleum is their #1 export but I believe they don’t actually produce the crude, it looks like they import crude and export refined oil and products, which you could make a decent case could be a carbon neutral process.

kerrigan778,

I don’t know where people like you get their ideas about medieval times, but even if you confine your view to a fairly narrow part of history and the world you’re still wrong… Disability was a huge part of life as one would imagine of a relatively violent and hard world with little medical technology. Blindness, deafness, muteness, lameness, mental illness and physical deformity were all facts of life then as they are today even if the causes and treatments were not as understood. Varying degrees and types of what would now be called disabilities were very common among the peasantry and less common but much better cared for among the wealthy.

…m.wikipedia.org/…/Disability_in_the_Middle_Ages

Heck, the Hapsburgs inbred themselves to extinction over several hundred years along with a host of physical deformities.

…org.uk/…/disability-in-the-community/

While of course there is a storied history of monasteries sheltering the sick and disabled and of leper colonies, most people with disabilities in medieval Europe lived within the community, working where they could and being supported and cared for by their community and families where they couldn’t. Begging obviously was where some ended up but was not the default.

Maybe not your fantasy. But maybe someone elses fantasy world.

kerrigan778,

Well, not if the USDA has anything to say about it…

kerrigan778,

A common way that I don’t see mentioned here is that it is common to take out a loan using your home as collateral, something like a major business loan not panning out or a mismanaged personal loan can absolutely end up letting the bank seize your house to pay off the loan.

Finally, I had to just nuke all my share status features lol.

kerrigan778,

AVN fan here, it’s CYOA erotica with nice graphics. If reading erotica vs watching porn doesn’t appeal to you at all then I’d imagine most AVNs wouldn’t appeal to you either?

kerrigan778,

You can already hide them in your library, it’s in the right click menu, you can find them by searching for the title, or just typing the first letter of any game title and scrolling all the way down and opening your whole hidden folder. I wish they’d add slightly more features to the library sorting though. Folders would be nice.

kerrigan778,

The real reason here

kerrigan778,

Honest question, why do people diss on Nord? (I’m also happy with Nord)
