Kid had her first taste of dodgeball today.

I honestly didn't know that this was a real thing. Figured it was one of those made-up-for-cartoons American School Things.

@ifixcoinops Dodgeball was a staple of my 1980s elementary school "PE" program.

The way we did it was last-man-standing. Divide the class into two halves, and set each one up on one side of the gym (you couldn't cross the dividing line). Then hurl like six balls into the mix and everything descended into utter chaos as the kids went feral and started hucking the balls at whoever they felt like. With so many of them flying, you'd get nailed with one out of nowhere, or hit from behind by a stray or one that just missed and bounced back off the opposite wall.

And these weren't foam or something innocuous like that, oh no, we're talking the 8.5 inch air-filled heavy rubber playground balls.
