I was asked what I like about programming. My answer was that my interest in it came from writing small scripts when I was young to automate things....
I was 7 and I found a booklet for BASIC programming language that came with my C64. I was fucking ecstatic that I could just write words and make computer go brrrr. My first project was my school schedule in a form of a table created with n number of print statements. I felt like a fucking wizard.
Now that Bandcamp has had huge layoffs, what about an opensource, Fediverse-friendly replacement? What can a FOSS product bring to the community and do better than Bandcamp?...

I prefer GNOME to KDE and I understand that there’s research and philosophy behind some of the decisions, but I just can’t get around some of the quirks. “Workflow” itself is fine, with tiling on top, you can get by. But those window decorations. So much space is taken by a completely useless, fat bar at the top of each window even though it’s not really aimed at being touchscreen native.

I gave it a fair shot for about a year, using vanilla GNOME with no extensions. While I eventually became somewhat proficient, it’s just not good....
