Self watering pots have a lot of downsides, but I find myself with several decorative plastic ones that I want to find a use for. What sort of plants thrive in these pots? What have you had luck with?
I had success with a marble queen pothos. Right after I re-potted it in the self-watering pot, it had a big growth spurt and doubled in size over the last 3 months. Used a soil mixture with mostly perlite, which may have helped aerate the soil without needing to let it dry out.
I’ve read in several places that using back off speeds and clean nozzles can help. I’m running with a new nozzle. Travel speed 150, retraction speed of 20, print speed 50. I think some of these are just defaults with cura 5.4 but I get the same thing with a higher retraction speed. What else should I look at?
Had mine for about 3 months so far, and it’s working great. The first benchy out of the box printed perfect, but the next larger print wasn’t sticking to the bed. That was easily fixed by scrubbing the bed sheet with a scotch-brite pad and lots of soap. The sheet it comes with has white grid lines painted on that tend to flake off and stick to the print, which doesn’t look that great with darker filaments. Replaced it with a blank sheet from Amazon. I also installed Klipper, which made it a lot nicer: github.com/bassamanator/Sovol-SV06-firmware
