@nske @kel @flockofnazguls I love Excession. Probably my fave of the series. It's like "fetch" to me.

Any tipps for survival and priorities in the writing phase of a PhD? I have to write a monograph, finished data collection and now go into in-depth analysis/ writing the thing. I have a bit more than 1,5 years of funding left and am trying to sort planning/ priorities out.

@AnjaKlein @anthropology @sts Brown bag it.

That is, treat it like a job, one that you set healthy boundaries with and leave on the desk at the end of a normal work day.

Your job is the production of new knowledge and sharing that back with humanity. Easy enough.

But it's not "school", or anything similar. Let your friends and loved ones know, and don't let them call it that.

And because you've set healthy boundaries, take care of yourself as well: good food, sleep, exercise.

And write.

Has anyone else (re)turned to since the of social media began? The level of control over my feeds and the absence of algorithms (mostly speaking...) has been a breath of fresh air.

Especially interested in how fellow , , and other are using RSS. What feeds are you subscribed to and what readers are you using? @histodons @academicchatter

I'm using Feedly purely because I had a very old account gathering dust but I'm not super keen on its slant towards business users and its AI push. As for feeds, I've got two groups - one for general blogs and sites (e.g. @thesiswhisperer) and one for and journals.

@jacobward @histodons @academicchatter @thesiswhisperer Never stopped using it, really? Manage a couple different groups if folders within Thunderbird, Academic Journals, Pods, Blogs and Newssites, and a couple update threads.

Just keeps on rolling.

I'd like to move a few more things there, and wished a couple other things integrated well. But we'll see what the New brings.
