chetradley,

How funny would it be if one state was completely colored red and it was “but of the old sweet and bubbly” or some shit.

chetradley,

Jesus be like, “goddammit, they got us on a technicality.”

chetradley,

Sure, but the final peasant can only make an improvised ranged attack roll for 1d4+STR (20/60).

chetradley,

Great call. I very heavily based him on the Intoner, with some adjustments for him being an orator/teller of tall tales instead of a musician. And yes, if you’re not watching Pointy Hat get on that ASAP!

chetradley,

So… I had the idea that the villain of my game would be a sort of “folk hero” who wrote (and often greatly exaggerated) records of his adventures. Being a bard, he found a way to achieve eternal life through his stories; as long as people kept reading about his adventures, he would maintain his undeath. Worked great until he realized he would need to create new stories to keep people interested. No problem, he could just create a demiplane where adventurers would come in search of treasure, and transport them into perilous and outlandish situations. Now he has new material for his stories! Hopefully they don’t catch on to the fact that these stories are made up… because then he’d have to make sure they could never leave…

chetradley,

That would work great if there weren’t actual gods in this universe. I think he’d get found out pretty quick lol.

chetradley,

Lol. Bless my wife for pretending to be interested.

chetradley,

Mario sees the mushroom cloud from the explosion and abandons his cart to jump toward it.

chetradley,

By Ryan North, the author of Dinosaur Comics! He based the book on a time travel survival guide he published and made into a T-shirt.

chetradley,

Fair question. I bought this vegan spam knockoff specifically because I’ve always wanted to try spam musubi, but I’ve never seen a vegan spam alternative. It’s mostly soy, starch and wheat, but if you want a full breakdown, here’s the manufacturer’s site.

Honest review, next time I’ll just make my own seitan. It wasn’t the worst, but the texture was weird and the cat food smell kinda put me off to begin with.

How does it compare to real Spam? Couldn’t really say since it’s been probably almost 20 years since I’ve had it. Probably about the same if memory serves.

chetradley,

The vegan spam was just ok, but the sushi rice was amazing!

chetradley,

That’s a good idea. I did something similar in a poke bowl and it was great. https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/b0a97158-f138-4177-b1d8-a8916717b77b.jpeg

chetradley,

Is there a better community for vegan food pictures?

chetradley,

They’ve been through enough already. Now I feel bad.

chetradley,

I hope you don’t unsubscribe, but I understand if this isn’t the content you come here for. One of the big reasons I post food pictures is because I think if they get a lot of traction, they might hit the “front page” and show non vegans that you can make any food vegan, so the only thing stopping you from harming animals might just be your own lack of creativity! Silly as it might sound, it feels like an outlet for activism and outreach. Let me know what you think!

chetradley,

Yes, I’ve made it several times, and normally I use a filler like blended chickpeas, tofu, beans, etc., so it usually doesn’t have this texture. The difference here is that I used this recipe: theveganatlas.com/homemade-seitan-recipe/ and I carefully stretched the finished dough as far as I could, rested it for 15 min and stretched it again. Then I tied it up in tight knots before I boiled it, resulting in the meaty texture with the strands that eerily resemble muscle fiber.

chetradley,

theveganatlas.com/homemade-seitan-recipe/ The trick is to stretch the dough as long as you can and knot it several times before boiling for that texture.

chetradley,

Stretch and knot the dough like they do in the washed flour viral seitan recipe. I used VWG because I’m lazy. The result was very “meat-like”.

chetradley,

Thanks! It came out really tasty. I made Mexican birria and braised it in the sauce. If you’re ever looking for a delicious, easy and cheap protein source, you should definitely give seitan a try!
