You could look into installing PiVPN over your Pi-Hole so you can use it while away from home as well via Wireguard. It is super simple to set up and use it on phones and laptops.

As a sway user, thank you for coming back and posting the solution. ProtonDB is great but not many sway users there and we sometimes run into more unique problems than users running with an actual DE do.

Would You Try New Pastimes If Star Trek Level Medical Care Was Available?

Star Trek’s level of medical care is far more advanced than today’s. As Beckett says in LD, “Doc will wave a light over it.” Yet, in Star Trek people aren’t shown doing hobbies and pastimes that are much different from what’s done now. Still, I wonder about differences in a society where people know they won’t be...

Honestly, it would just be nice if that kind of tech could rid me of my (at times excruciating) chronic pain.

I’ve reached the point – years ago – where it has become truly debilitating and there are days and longer periods where I can barely perform any physical action. It is frustrating and my quality of life would improve dramatically if I did not have that constantly hindering me in my daily life.

Forget “dangerous” hobbies; I might actually be able to have a social life again and see my friends or go out to see a movie or go shopping!

Played through Road 96 quite recently and it was definitely different. I did really enjoy it and as an anticapitalist lefty I could get into the overarching narrative quite easily.

I did not know about the Mile 0 prequel though so thanks for pointing that out. Wishlisted for now until a proper sale.

Element is just a client that can connect to the Matrix which is federated and decentralized just like Lemmy. Element is heavily promoted because element is the most well-developed client out there (made by the same people behind the matrix so they get the new features first) but far from the only one.

Regular element is free on all operating systems including windows, linux, android, etc. And there's even a web version.

And just like Lemmy you can register on any instance and communicate with any other (federated) instances. Matrix.org being the biggest one but there are countless and you can even self-host.

If you'd rather use another client you can use any of these listed here: https://matrix.org/ecosystem/clients/

To use Element on the web you just need to go to:
https://app.element.io/
