Well, it is called Thanksgiving, lol

Note the twin slot shelving system in the back allowing for for two columns of shelves to be mounted independently from one another on the left and right.

Is this not normal? I don’t think I’ve ever seen a full size fridge without it. In the US, that is.

canthidium,
@canthidium@lemmy.world avatar

Oh interesting. Are your fridges as wide as ours are normally? I lived in Japan for a few years and their refrigerators are on the whole a lot smaller than ours.

This photo is about average for a refrigerator with the freezer below in the US. A side by side freezer/fridge only has one column, I believe. It’s been a while since I’ve had one like that.

I do find it a little overdone nowadays, but this is pretty nice. It really depends on how it’s done for me.

I’m super excited for a new John Woo! Loved all his early action stuff. And Face/Off will always have a special place in my heart.

"Recipes" is now "Recipes and Cooking Tips"! (lemmy.world)

Thank you. We’re always discussing ways to try to grow our community and Lemmy itself. And we try to involve the users as much as possible. I believe it’s their community and they should have a say in what happens to it.

I’ve just never really understood these at all. The egg/bread ratio in each bite is just off. I’d rather just put the egg on top of the toast and enjoy egg + toast in every bite. What am I missing?

canthidium,
@canthidium@lemmy.world avatar

The article was written by an “Erin Moriarty”. I just kept imagining Starlight interviewing them.

canthidium,
@canthidium@lemmy.world avatar

Oh wow, I love your paint work on this!

canthidium,
@canthidium@lemmy.world avatar

Yes, can’t go wrong with IBC Root Bear!

canthidium,
@canthidium@lemmy.world avatar

That’s the thing people always miss. It’s not that the fast food workers getting $20 is high, it’s that every profession should be getting paid more. Wages across the board are stagnant.

canthidium,
@canthidium@lemmy.world avatar

Yes, I should have more clear. I was speaking specifically about the workers, not executives.

canthidium,
@canthidium@lemmy.world avatar

Oh yes, very much agreed. It’s infuriating.

Did anyone see No One Will Save You? (www.heavenofhorror.com)

This completely slipped under my radar until the other day I was listening to a movie podcast and they were praising it. This was really good and original. It’s a PG-13 horror, but that didn’t matter at all. Not gory at all, but full of suspense and interesting scenes. Kaitlyn Denver puts in a strong performance, despite...

canthidium,
@canthidium@lemmy.world avatar

Nice, any specifics or other thoughts?

canthidium,
@canthidium@lemmy.world avatar

ok, thanks for participating…i guess

canthidium,
@canthidium@lemmy.world avatar

Agreed, interesting how you thought they

spoilerweren’t typical hollywood aliens. Grays are the classic hollywood alien. The typical design going back to the 50s.

canthidium,
@canthidium@lemmy.world avatar

This is true. Some theories I’ve seen that I actually agree with are

spoilerThe grays were being controlled by the throat parasite things as well.

What do you think?

canthidium,
@canthidium@lemmy.world avatar

spoilerThis is exactly what I was thinking too. The parasites were just using the Grays as well. Like the first one she kills, the parasite crawls out to escape.

canthidium,
@canthidium@lemmy.world avatar

Yes agreed, I loved it. Kaitlyn Dever is going to be a star I think

canthidium,
@canthidium@lemmy.world avatar

Lol, I don’t care if you crosspost. You made a separate thread when we had a discussion post pinned last time. I was just giving you shit because you’re a mod here and should have noticed.

canthidium,
@canthidium@lemmy.world avatar

Ryan Gosling is great as always in comedic roles. He falls under the “character actor trapped in a leading man’s body” category just like Colin Farrell and Brad Pitt.

Very much agreed. All 3 of them are amazing comedic actors.

canthidium,
@canthidium@lemmy.world avatar

Oh man, I would love to be able to watch it for the first time again.

canthidium,
@canthidium@lemmy.world avatar

That’s disappointing. Seems to be the consensus I’ve been seeing as well. I’m still going to go see it, but lower my expectations.

canthidium,
@canthidium@lemmy.world avatar

It does!, I love Matthew Vaughn and this cast is stacked.

canthidium,
@canthidium@lemmy.world avatar

That sounds reasonable. When I tried it they put a lot of focus on the higher power stuff, but I imagine a lot depends on what group you’re in too.

If you’re just a social drinker I don’t think you’d benefit from AA anyway. It’s more for people who have a serious problem, not just a bad social habit

Oh, I wasn’t just a social drinker, I mean I only drank socially, never alone, but I could never stop. I would go out every night and drink til 6am and get belligerent. I’ve been sober for a long time now so I don’t need help. I was just talking about my AA experience years ago.

canthidium,
@canthidium@lemmy.world avatar

That definitely may have been the issue too. I was in the southern US at the time in a heavily Christian town too.

canthidium,
@canthidium@lemmy.world avatar

OMG, this looks delicious! Is there a recipe?

canthidium,
@canthidium@lemmy.world avatar

Oh awesome, thanks so much. I’m one of the mods over at c/recipes if you would like to share it as well.

Why is cooking a food item method called different things by what the item is, or what is the criteria?

On the Food network they boil potatoes, but they poach carrots. They poach turkey, but they boil eggs. They sauté’ onions, but they fry eggs in the same pan. Likewise, they fry hash browns, but they sauté’ onions in the same pan before adding the potatoes....

canthidium,
@canthidium@lemmy.world avatar

I really think it’s a texture thing for me. But I also don’t really get a lot of flavor when I eat soggy carrots. It just taste like mush to me. Roasting them really brings out the flavor for me as well as gives it a nice texture. Slightly burnt is so good. I love raw carrots as well.
