After watching the video, I thought it was pretty solid. Only 1 of the 4 was mostly bad, the rest just had sharp edges that the viewer needed to be comfortable with before launching in.
I’m not saying Linus isn’t guilty of clickbait and junk content to some degree, but this one felt good to me :)
Attempt #1 was editing in blender, and it took 3h to get the file to slice correctly (I needed to remesh in blender sculpting tools to get the overlapping shapes to work).
Attempt #2 was importing the STL in openscad and doing a union() of the two objects. That worked perfectly the first time and took 20min. (But it was way more annoying to pick exactly the right number to translate all the shapes around)
But I’ll point out that 200km/h is still ~50% higher than highway speeds, with no traffic, and you can still focus on other things. So even low end rail is still better than driving.
I don’t know how to explain why I like Hemingway. His work just feels hyper true in a way. Him and Steinbeck both stay with me for a while after I put the book down.
