We can disagree here. But if I upload a picture with a specific intent (sharing it in my insta feed for example) why do other companies then have the right to wholesale take these images and use them for other purposes? I think they don’t.
And there is a serious constraint on privacy violations like taking my picture when I’m out and about, since the photographer can only be on one place at a time.
What we see here is privacy violations by automated systems on a scale never before seen. Just by taking the photos and processing them.
Well, the first question would be if the revenues that meta makes are comparable. Because if they are not an argument can be made it is not a real alternative.
Second, the data COLLECTION, storage and processing is the issue. And all info on the subscription seems to suggest that does not change. Just the ad serving.
Lastly what about all users that don’t have a Facebook account but are tracked regardless. Meta and the other privacy-invasion companies should not be allowed too track me wholesale without my explicit consent, and luckily the law is on my side.
Healthy choice, I’ll join you in not reading about all of the filth on these platforms. No need for dead baby video’s, no need for psycho’s laughing at other people’s horrors.
I think this argument is silly. It’s like if you went Out in public and paparazzi started haunting everyone out on the street, all the time, even though you are no-one famous.
There is such a thing as privacy, and the fact that I uploaded a picture does not give some other random company the right to wholesale process my images.
I don’t think a very portable laptop would be the go to choice for video editing.
I would imagine checking that the notebook actually uses SoDimm memory and not memory that is soldered I to the device.
processor wise you can also look for a notebook with a desktop processor. Although this makes the device bulky.
the IdeaPad is the home user quality and does not compare to ThinkPads in therms of build quality. So if you will be taking this everywhere, it will probably not live as long as a Thinkpad.
Also keep in mind with the office 365. The home versions are not for business use.
Jeez, I think everyone should be happy this hardware returns to the military and not some group of criminal whackjobs that use them for God knows what.
The UN is not a legislative body, nor the international law. It was designed to give countries a place to keep talking, and for other countries to voice their opinions on global affairs.
And sometimes large groups of countries coalesce around a subject and actually decide to do something about it (regardless of if the others agree).
And then in an even smaller set of circumstances the majority (or all) decide a situation warrants collective action.
But the bottom line seems to be you are correct in that countries pick and choose their stance on the UN resolutions. But at least they have an avenue to keep talking.
