TWeaK,

PowerDeleteSuite doesn't get everything, particularly on old accounts. PDS uses your New, Hot, Top & Controversial lists on your profile - however reddit has been limiting the length of these lists for a few months now.

For example, if you have a link to one of your older Top comments, you might see a bunch of low karma replies underneath that PDS didn't touch.

The only real way to get everything is to do a GDPR request and use the links in there. Shreddit can do this (in particular the github version, the website charges $15 for the feature), however even then it will panic and stop part way through. I've had to edit the files and split them down, and even then I haven't yet finished. Shreddit uses the API though, so it won't work after 1 July.

Also reddit have been restoring some comments evert couple days - you might find some that PDS removed have returned. Supposedly this is to do with how reddit's CDN structure works, but that may also just be an excuse. I wouldn't be surprised if reddit tries to claim ownership of everyone's comments and restores most if not all of them, so those google searches might start working again.

TWeaK,

He already had that muted anyway, this is just being done out of spite.

TWeaK,

Steve Huffman, use his name. It's not defamation if it's true.

TWeaK,

Why not donate feddit.uk instead?

TWeaK,

I swear it said this was in feddit.uk when I posted. I think it's that websocket bug, where sometimes part of the information on one tab is loaded from another.

TWeaK,

It's kinda tricksy. You need to visit the comm from within your own instance. The easiest way is to click Communities, then All, then search for it - however you have to know what you're looking for, and you can't filter or sort by instance.

In this case, searching would be hard, as the comm is called "main". There are probably lots of other mains in different instances.

For you, try beehaw.org/c/[email protected]. However, it could be that it's too new for your instance to know about it, in which case I'm not sure but you may just have to wait until beehaw federates with it.

I think there's also a generic way to format links such that anyone can click them from their own instance and get their instance's version, however I haven't learned that yet. Something like !main. Also, things can work different on apps vs the website - for example Jerboa only lets you browse comms you're subbed to.

TWeaK,

Fucking freefolk bringing the win yet again.

TWeaK,

Surely kbin's federation with Lemmy means thus simply isn't the case?

Why is thepiratebay not in the megathread, despite being so much better?

Whenever thepiratebay goes down, it is a disaster for me to find anything online. The megathread is next to useless, taking me to all these crazy sites that don't have a torrent option. Instead, they have individual episode downloads of 600 episode TV series. And to access each individual episode, I have to click on a mirror...

TWeaK,

TPB is exactly what it used to be, it hasn’t been updated in nearly 2 decades.

As the site maintainers used to and still do say, if you don’t like it, make your own.

TWeaK,

Hell, reddit was a friendly host for r/t_d for many years.

TWeaK,

Somehow in my head I've always put the far left and the far right in the same boat.
