…alright, maybe this is a stupid question, but how is it we can’t get 8 ships out there meant to suck up sea water and blast it onto the fire until its out? How is it that waiting for it to burn out our best option here?
Hate to break it to you, but most people in Phoenix is home, transport and water secure. Yup, the power going out would suck, but not death-suck for most people.
This article literally claims that all 4.95 million people living in the greater Phoenix area is living in hell. That’s ridiculous. It’s not even close to being true.
To be fair, there’s alternate history that was being taught in schools prior to this (I haven’t looked into the prageru program, so I’m not sure what they teach that’s alt history yet). But the 1619 project is a good example of alternate history that was/is being pushed and taught at schools.
Do you have links to show what they’re doing? Because as far as I was aware, the only climate issues they’re trying to fix is air pollution in big cities like Hong Kong. I haven’t seen anything about them trying to save the planet.
I live in Phoenix. This article is blowing life out here way out of proportion.
There’s very little humidity here, so the weather doesn’t choke you. Yeah, we drink a little more water in the summer time, but most Americans drink way less water than they should be anyway. So, what, we’re more hydrated than most of America’s population?
Our streets aren’t walkable really, even in the winter months. Everything has been built too far apart, so we just drive more. The most walkable areas are downtown and ASU, and even there, in the winter, I do as little walking as possible cause everything is so spread out.
I moved here in August from Southern CA, near the beach where the weather is mild. My lips didn’t crack as I drove in, and they haven’t cracked since. My phone has never had trouble charging due to heat.
The great thing about instanses though is that I can create an account on an instance that isn’t deffederated to get around that. On reddit, there’s no way to do that from one app.
The problem is with what we each consider nazis or fascists. I don’t believe most conservatives are fascists or nazis, but a lot of people do believe that (which is an extremest take in of itself). For example, if you believe people who want more secure borders are nazis or fascists, we 100% disagree on what makes someone so.
It’s hard because everyone 100% has a different definition for every political party/leaning. I’m proud of you for sticking to being open to consider all points if view.
I’m a leftist, but I love having my views pushed against, and I am open to having my views changed on what I believe and think if I find the argument persuasive enough. It really is a sort of cancer that both sides tend to refuse to even consider they might be wrong on anything.
Keep on doing you, the downvotes don’t mean your outlook politically is wrong or bad.
