Yes, and UberEats in particular is big mad about it. It brings me joy to tap “Deny” everytime it asks me to turn them back on.
The only notifications I get are texts/calls, and a couple smart-home things that are set to warn me about temps or when a light-timer turns on or off. Not even social media, especially not social media, get to interrupt my day.
Why do you feel you need to convince them of anything? I totally get having your eyes opened to the broader spectrum of coffees available but end of the day it’s a preference based on subjective senses. Let 'em do them, what’s the harm?
I dunno, that article feels really forced. Sure, they're all Sci-Fi tropes, but they can all be used effectively or lazily. I can't think of a single classic that doesn't employ some, if not all of these tropes but they are still great. I can think of dozens that use them poorly.
I think the issue is more good writing vs. bad. Good writing recognizes the trends the audience is familiar with from the genre and incorporates them in a unique way, building on them creatively to give the audience something new.
Is turtle just copy/pasting replies they've previously received from users they banned for whatever dumb reason? It literally reads like any of the threads I've seen complaining about their moderation.
