Disappointing is watching literal genocide apologists run rampant all over kbin.social. Not sure if reports are broken or what but nothing has, as of yet been done.
@Melpomene At the moment, I'm tackling this issue, and several magazines now boast a fresh set of moderators. I'm also fine-tuning tools for moderators, including those on a global scale, and in the upcoming days, I plan to seek assistance from the right individuals to assemble a top-notch moderator team.
I feel bad for @ernest ...looks like the spambots are overrunning kbin.social at the moment. Pages upon pages of spam in the "newest" section. Hopefully, they're on top of things.
@Melpomene Yeah, campaigns have been happening quite frequently lately, but I try to respond as quickly as I can so it's not too bothersome. I also have delays with the release itself, but I will be working on a permanent solution soon.
TIL that Lemmy of Motorhead was an avid collector of Nazi memorabilia and indeed, wore some of the less obvious trappings. Came up in a conversation about #fediverse#lemmy because that guy was one of the inspirations for the name, apparently.
Do we know whether the people in charge of #lemmy.ml have responded about their seemingly targeted block of all #kbin instances?
Given the lack of response from the lemmy.ml admins and the fact that the issue is very much specific to their instance, this looks intentional. I hope not... seeing an instance break other instances' interactions by blocking incoming requests (while still giving their own instance full access) would be the definition of federating in bad faith.
TL;DR, this is the sort of behavior I'd expect from #Meta.
