I finished Ovid's Metamorphoses last night. (McCarter translation)

I expected mythology but I was surprised by the amount of magic. Like, woman with wild hair in the woods at night with a wand and cauldron, mixing herbs and casting spells.

I guess I had associated that with more Germanic (Grimm fairy tales) literature. Apparently a lot of that imagery comes from Rome.

My favorite browser : " Extension"

Allows you to create a list of where you have a card (borrowing privileges), and then displays ebook / audiobook availability when you visit certain book pages.

It's very cool and has saved me alot of money (borrowing vs buying).

@bookstodon @geekaren @rustoleumlove @DelilahTech yep, check your county and state laws. Here in California, if you belong / reside to a library that does NOT a charge non-residents, then you can borrow from other “free” libraries.
This is very nice for ebooks. :)

Some were 90 day cards until you could get there in person. Brooklyn public library used to let us out of state folks pay a fee - did we email a copy of our drivers license?? Can’t remember
