Goodbye Youtube and thanks for all the fish (infosec.pub)

Youtube let the other shoe drop in their end-stage enshittification this week. Last month, they required you to turn on Youtube History to view the feed of youtube videos recommendations. That seems reasonable, so I did it. But I delete my history every 1 week instead of every 3 months. So they don’t get much from my choices....

JineteDeAbuelas47,

This,I am now paying for Nebula since a signicant amount of creators I follow are there and when Im on yt Im pretty sure they arent making much money from me

JineteDeAbuelas47,

Houston and NY are both large american cities and are complete opposites when it comes to planning. Thing is, most American cities are closer to Houston on the spectrum than to New York, for every Philly theres 2 Kansas Cities if you get what I mean

JineteDeAbuelas47,

Yes exactly, theyre top tier in US metropolis buuuut they do not hold out well once you bring up Europe into the equation

JineteDeAbuelas47,

Or old school Windows 95 logo with a bit more effort

JineteDeAbuelas47,

Fine platform buuuut lots of nuts over there, I watched Mental Outlaw and Brightside Films i think(?) and got straight up nazi stuff on the recommendations sidebar, the comments on some videos are also kinda insane

JineteDeAbuelas47,

Would setting up a raspberry pi-hole do the work? Asking from ignorance but IIRC, at least in the past, it got the job done

JineteDeAbuelas47,

Tacos and burritos could absolutely meet this criteria If you’re doing them well at home, with the most unhealthy thing being the tortilla itself (You could argue that those are empty calories). Of course that means no sour cream or cheap cheese abuse among other things

JineteDeAbuelas47,

Im not an expert but people argue that bread and esentially most products whose base is just flour aren’t good. The reasoning is that those are carbohydrates that just add calories and nothing else (protein, vitamins etc…). So eating 200kcal of tuna is healthier than 200kcal of bread since those calories come with Proteins, phosphorus, omega 3 a bunch of vitamins etc. Whereas bread/tortillas are (basically) just carbohydrates which arent bad by themselves, but also arent good in excess
