At least I can mope around at home with Covid in my newly finished sweater. It has a little lid for my watch because I might need a watch again sometime in the future 🙃

Wrist of said sweater. The ribbing extends to the fingers with a thumb hole. A conspicuous bulge indicates a watch.
The watch face is visible through a gap in the fabric.

My finishing tip for is that if you've got young kids, blocking can be even more magical than usual.

Swishing soft things in water? Spinning wet stuff in a salad spinner and watching the water fly out? Wrapping damp yarn in a towel and stomping on it? Stabbing it with pins and wires? All fun! Sure, it takes longer with kid "help" and you have to watch to avoid mishaps, but it changes blocking from a chore to play and it's been a delight. 💚

The Dread Pirate kid 's idea of how to use blocking pins and wires. There is a little "flower" of pins clustered together on one of the knit shawl points.
The Dread Pirate kid is squishing some recently spun brightly coloured rainbow yarn into cool water as part of my finishing process.
The Dread Pirate kid is measuring my shawl on the blocking mats in the floor. He's lining up a yard stick in the center of the triangle shawl.

@terri @knitting and they run the risk of learning stuff ( centrifuges, cms, shapes) at the same time🤗

This is my latest #knitting I started last weekend. My cousin is throwing herself a 60th birthday party blast next month and I’m making her a long, wide rectangular shawl/wrap in a cozy Berroco wool.

I hate deadline knitting. Party is in 6 weeks and I finished 1/5th of it in less than a week. As long as I keep on this pace I should make it with blocking time to spare. @knitting

We were asked to cancel our classes today and not go to campus because Stanford is playing University of Hawaiʻi in football and they needed the parking. 🤨

This is another reason for transit and bike infrastructure.

@davidho football parking over education. In a university that prides itself on its acadrmic standards. seriously?

May every penny he ever makes go to his victims, before he’s run over by a MAGA bus driver aiming for some homeless dude on the corner.

@shoq "No one should have to continue to defend the fact that they acted in self defense." is an interesting quote from him.

The smell of privilege it exudes (all 7✔️ of them) is overpowering.

I might be a convert to Magic Loop. I normally use DPNs to knit socks, and I knit the first sock of this pair that way. But the pattern is written for ML, so I switched. I’ve tried it before and didn’t like it, but I’ve got better needles now and it’s so much faster. It’s amazing what a difference the ChiaoGoo Red Lace make

@callunavulgaris @Bridgetrivers @knitting do you have a link to a decent explanation how to a heel from the toes up?
Am tempted to switch, but the heel portion deters me.
