CptOblivius,

As a “Millennial” in the 40s, myself and others my similar age don’t ever seem to fit into the millennial category well. The start should be in the mid 1980’s not the beginning. Gen x seems more fitting for the early 80s. But the generation thing is kind of silly anyway.

A lot of us in healthcare stayed pretty stable. I don’t know of any that did “better”, but other than elective stuff, day to day dropped only a little. About 9-10% of Americans are in healthcare. I do know a lot of delivery services did well too.

CptOblivius,

I remember reading the NM one happened in a aquarium, but it is still counted. Bull sharks do travel up the Mississippi River and tributaries and have been reported in IL.

CptOblivius,

It’s not a BS term it is the patented term used by Percy Maxim when he invented it.

CptOblivius,

It is a public health crisis. Cops can’t fix a public health crisis. It’s not their job, they are not trained to do so. This was the heart of defund the police. Not to get rid of police but to redirect funds to agencies that are trained to fix non police problems.

CptOblivius,

70% of Africans are under 30. Age was one of the highest risk factors for COVID.🤔

CptOblivius,

Not bad, better than I thought it would be. At least enjoyable on the steam deck.

CptOblivius,

Not biased at all. A transportation CEO wanting people to use transportation to get to work. I can’t smell any bias.

"Write a Check for $11,000. She Was 26, She Had Limited Value." [Seattle Police] Officer Jokes with Police Union Leader About Killing of Pedestrian by Fellow Cop (publicola.com)

In a conversation with Mike Solan, the head of the Seattle Police Officers’ Guild, Seattle Police Department officer and SPOG vice president Daniel Auderer minimized the killing of 23-year-old student Jaahnavi Kandula by police officer Kevin Dave and joked that she had “limited value” as a “regular person” who was only...

CptOblivius,

I am not aware of any place else where police refer to people as “civilians”. Usually that is reserved for military and not military. But in the US they think it’s borderline martial law.

They really honestly believe there is a separation between them and “us.”. I believe this is the root of the problem.

CptOblivius,

Someone needs to make an extension that googles random stuff all the time and floods ones history with so much background noise that the history becomes useless.

CptOblivius,

I’ve been looking to get solar installed. Unfortunately not much for options around me. Prices are not viable.

CptOblivius,

He literally says if you’re 5’3" and 300 lbs and eating fudge. Specifically referring to an obese person on welfare. Nothing hidden here.

CptOblivius,

Something like the Maverick hybrid might be best for you.

CptOblivius,

Feed them on the way up and the way down. Sucking/drinking greatly helps with the air pressure changes. We did that and worked wonders. We would walk of and people would be surprised there were children were in the plane.

So... are Lemmy users also generally crypto supporters?

Just got very lightly flamed by another user for making fun of crypto and was told that Lemmy and crypto have “the exact same advantages and disadvantages”. Now I disagree heavily there, since even if it shares some principles I’d argue that the scale of the problems change when you’re talking about a global finance...

CptOblivius,

I am not. Plus the ones needing to be mined by wasting of ton of energy are basically an environmental disaster.
